Calendar of Meetings
The following is a draft of the Glacier Valley Site Council calendar of agenda items. It may vary from this timeline depending on due dates provided by the district or other entities. This draft should be seen as a guideline on work the Site Council will complete during the year. Each meeting takes place at 5 p.m. in the Glacier Valley Conference Room.
September 7, 2011
Topic: School Action Plan
Site Council Role: To look at previous year achievement data; applying what we see as trends and help increase student achievement by using that information to review and provide feedback on our plan for professional development and programs to help students increase their skills.
Topic: Setting of the Site Council Calendar & Membership
Site Council Role: To set the meeting schedule for the school year, welcome new members; discuss recruitment of new members and to assign roles according to the by-laws.
Topic: District Budget Process
Site Council Role: To understand the calendar and process of the district budget and to select member to apply for a position on the district budget committee. Also provide input on budget items deemed important to forward to the budget committee.
Topic: Review of school curriculum/program
Site Council Role: To ask clarifying questions and provide feedback on the school curriculum/program plan presented by the school.
November 9, 2011
Topic: Parent Involvement Plan/Policy
Site Council Role: To understand the involvement plan, brainstorm possible additions or changes, and provide feedback on effectiveness of the current work.
Topic: District Calendar
Site Council Role: To provide input on likes and dislikes on proposed district calendars for the upcoming school year.

Topic: Review a section of the student handbook
Site Council Role: To brainstorm and provide feedback on a section of the handbook that is under revision and to approve revisions.
January 11, 2012
Topic: Review of school curriculum/program
Site Council Role: To ask clarifying questions and provide feedback on the school curriculum/program plan presented by the school.
February 8, 2012
Topic: District Budget Process Update & Enrollment Projection
Site Council Role: To understand current budget issues and how they might effect the school. Provide feedback regarding staffing plans.
Topic: Technology Plan Review
Site Council Role: To brainstorm and provide feedback on the technology plan, especially on software and hardware selection and implementation.
March 14, 2012
Topic: Review the school district budget
Site Council Role: Determine the school district budget impact on the school both in staffing and in materials budget.
Topic: Review of the school year calendar (as passed by the board)
Site Council Role: To understand the school year calendar and provide feedback on the schools own version of the school year calendar.
April 11, 2012
Topic: Review draft school plan for next school year
Site Council Role: Ask clarifying questions and brainstorm regarding both patterns in data and planned program revisions presented by staff.
May 9, 2012
Topic: Review student and program data
Site Council Role: To analyze current data presented by staff and provide feedback on both successes and areas that still need improvement.
Topic: Set draft Site Council calendar
Site Council Role: To establish draft calendar, state intentions regarding membership next year and to plan recruitment.
